hylife vol. 19
HAPPY 4-20 EVERYBODY!! Thank you thank you thank
you. I give thanks for the amount of time I have
to give thanks.
HOLY PARTY SMOOCHES!!! WE ARE FAMOUS! Hyim and
the Fat Foakland Orchestra’s name has stood
for two weeks straight as “The Best Band
Name” on KALX’s (U.C. Berkeley Radio)
call-in competition. Now that’s something,
<check, 1, 2>
Hy-dog here for you on the hylife check in. <check>
Hope all is peaceful in your pastures. The moon
is ever-observing our tails of woe and wonder;
the seasons are shedding and shifting in their
windmill patterns. “Ride my
chariot, and exchange my trophies. Windmill rider,
cuts the strings of caught kites and bullies.
No more blood on the ground, no, smoke and water
will do. A skin from you, ever evolving elevating
flurries.”
--new words for the new HYIM AND THE FAT FOAKLAND
ORCHESTRA album.
WARNING, THIS MAY GIVE YOU AN UNCOMFORTABLE SENSE
OF PITY: The new albums, which are due out soon,
seem to be lost as a hard-drive crashed and the
back ups are not so recent. Ten’s of hundreds
of hours lost, and into the wind. What an experience
ripe with such great lessons to learn. Ummhmmm.
See, I produce my own sh*t and did not back up
my hard drive enough. DON’T DO IT!!! DON’T
WAIT!!! WHATEVER IT IS!!! TIME MANIFEST!!
So the latest thought is to release a few tunes
we know you like on the INTER-NET for $.99 each:

Me and my manager are arguing about it. I slammed
em but he is so stubborn (just kidding, I am peace
man—just being sarcastic, don’t call
the FCC. I flash my nipples at clubs, not football
games)---Grandma check: “what are you writing
hyim?” Check positive.
CAMA MAMA CAMA

5 REASONS TO COME TO THE PARTY FRIDAY 4/30/04
DEECEE’S SOUL SHAKEDOWN. Come and kick it
with your peoples in the East Bay homestead at
the Shattuck Down Low. DOPE SOUND SYSTEM, I promise.
Plus, see silly sick acts FEMI and Fiyawata. Fiyawata
takes where Fugees left off and finishes the job
with their Hip-Hop E. Oakland/ S. Brooklyn Carribean-Soul-Style.
Their vibe will keep the party moving. Believe
that. FEMI is one of the most charismatic new-soul
singers out today. She’s not only beautiful,
sexy, and talented, she has that ability to sing
a lullaby and then rip the roof off with her voice
and presence. Believe that. We of course, will
be rippin it and having old and new members of
the FFO come on stage and do their thing. Good
times. We will play two sets and also have Djs
spinning Hip-Hop, World Beat, Latin Grooves, and
Reggae. East Bay celebrates it’s children
in the
best of waayyaaayaas. Friday, April 30th!!!

Joel Selvin interviewed me. He put pictures of
me on the newspaper. Good times. Give thanks.
FYI, and contrary to interpretations of the story,
as a child, my momma took good care of me and
my step-pappa is a great guy. They both helped
me become who I am. Thank you all for the generous
donations and kind words that came my way after
that. I will put some of the money towards the
Oakland School of Music.
Blessings.
MC Hy has been born. Jewish Hip-Hop compilation
coming out this Summer featuring MC Hy and 14
other international Jewish Hip-Hop artists. I
rap about Kaballah and my tuchus. How it's all
one, ya know. Did my first show today at Valejo
Elementar where MC Hy freestyled about the color
of the youngster's clothes. We had a good time
and we wrote a song together. They are so smart
them younguns! “Just say ‘no’
to haters.”—MC Hy.
Art, Life, Beauty.
Give thanks for the experience of experiences.
Selah,
hyim
