YO...GO AND VOTE....
you know it is something people worked, hope, organize, fight, kill, marched, strike,
revolt, rally, chant, sit-in, walked out, dreamed, chained, fasted, ran, got beat,
struggled, hoped, and sang for.
maybe it's a chore but
do it on the way to the store...
and for my cynix: just cuz ya vote
i ain't sayin and i dont mean in it ya place all your hope...at least We know why,
today,
and tomorrow, We know about the histories, laws, and 3/5 sorrows...
Singing songs of protest for my babies to come...
dreaming of possible outcomes with hopeful hums.
who did wade through the water wishing...
to cast a vote and ring the bell...
ring your bells child...ring
five freedoms...don't take it for granted.
...singing for all the saints and cynix in my head
i said: laying to rest my need to know that what i do will change the world.
cuz it already has. yeah.
and what is a sneeze
in the universe.?
ahhh...for my children yet to come. it's my
warm-holding arms and a loving breeze...

and that's all it is...that's all it is.

you know i don't place my hope in my vote...
but i'm on this turtle island boat
so i punch the book in
the bigger book of life
craft some sails from the old and
sing with my sisters and brothers and We go marching out, and on...

change a come. hy don't lie. change a come.

that's all it is...
change a come
warm holding arms and a loving breeze...
change a come. yeah.

sometimes ya work it in
sometimes ya work it out

word up.

courage, peace, shena tova, and love.

reflect the real conflict, but may articulate norms or myths which disguise or deflect
the more latent conflict
