hylife vol. 13

yo. what it is. What it ain’t. what it will be. What it was. And what it aint
ever gonna be…

What is going down?

Hope all is well in your hoods, villes and areas.

The show on the 27th consists of my biggest band to date, I believe. Afro-Haitian percussionist Ajayi Jackson, universal kit drummer Faiella, and my new bass player, fresh out from NYC, Chazzy, on the six string bass. Plus, we have Marcus Stephens from the Marcus Shelby Orchestra on Saxes & flute along with newcomer Rip Rob on trumpet. Cuban percussionist Pablo Soto on conga and beautiful Brianna on violin. Stonefly of Orixa is set to sit in on timbales as well as drop a Spanish flow. And of course, Ambessa the Articulate of Fiyawata is coming to do his thing (he’s the MC on the track “Let Me Go.”) So not only is it a CD re-release party, but it’s also the Jewish New Year and you know how We kick it!

Let out a little peace, and save us some money and lives while you’re at it yo. http://www.costofwar.com/

Welcome all new folks. This is the hylife. Volume Number 13. Ancient number once outlawed for it’s ripe and prime significance.

Anyway, who’s counting? Drum roll…

It’s So Pathetic: my dog Izzy gets more belly rubs than me!
It’s So Pathetic: the way they recall with gall my tax dollars while kids holler cuz school drinking fountain’s broke.
It’s So Pathetic: How hyim rhymes.
It’s So Pathetic: Who umps the calls’ crime chimes?

Get up and get out of your seat and jump around cuz hyim has a NEW DOPE TRACK. “It’s So Pathetic” is a little mid-tempo bump-drop booty shaker that has some crazy Baroque organ in it over a rattle-yer-bones bass-line. I like it. “It’s So Pathetic” is on the new version of “Let Out A Little Peace.”” The cd will be available at the cd re-release party. I have two cds for sale now. One an EP: Collection of Ballads and one Let Out A Little Peace. If any of this is confusing. Don’t worry. Take a deep breath
and just come to the show.

Nuff said. Much love and respect and patience. We are up to the challenges that come our way. Pacing our poetry and arriving anew till the day of our sunset when all things must go. To the becoming of not able==when the sea welcomes the land- water’s flow.
