hylife vol. 4
what is going down my peoples! welcome
to all the new folks. i hope this letter finds
you in good spirits. that, some would say would
be quite a trick considering the world's affairs.
hmmm.
...but it is beautiful too. like you.
beautiful as is calypso. or dope art. himalayan
rivers. or like 4 year old's drawings with your
name on it. or like the 1 o'clock Oakland sun
on your face after coming back from visiting your
family in New Yawk. (what's up new york homies!!!)
ANYWAYS...BACK ON TRACK. YO. speaking
of new york. my plan is to be in nyc in
July with a band ((how grand!!)). yup. gigs
are lining up and i think i've located a friggin
room for $WHAT? i am excited to be back on the
east coast...with thick air and thick people and
a mecca of arts and those thoughtful of art.
(that was a little nerdy, yeah). CHECK
this out: i am working on a new album
and it has been (...blank. words slip my mind
alla slushies). anyhow, it's called "A Collection
of Ballads, Vol.1" mostly me singing words (some
nigguns) while i'm playing the piano. some beats,
some poetry, some other musicians, singers, what not,
too. about thirteen tunes. i hope it will be
done this june (nigguns: nee-goonz---Hebrew
for a collection of melodic prayers and/or communions--niggun
sing). amen corner: give it up
to Blake's for asking me back so graciously.
they seemed to like all yous (i am workin on my
newyawkese, kid) who came last last Friday. that
show was tight! having Sonefly from Orixa and
Hazel sit in for a song was fresh. three languages
in one song, que bueno. well be it what it may,
i obliged and rsvp-ed, that yes, the rbp posse,
hyim & the fat foakland orchestra, will be pleased
to rock your house once again, roger, check one,
two. and if you read this far down this is just
for you. plan to be present at the party held
on April twenty-sixth--- a Saturday of music and
ahellaofalotta sticks---, cuz we want three drummers
a mighty and another rippin on two kits---cuz
if rhythm is what you want then i say give em
that for which they wish--and as if that wasn't
enough for ya and rhythm just aint your thing,--please
welcome another keyboard to the mix-- and kid
ken, playing his sonic quilting tenor saxathing.
all held well after 8, so hold the date---hey,
it's a Saturday in April and Spring will be all
up in the sexy mix.
Say What???
and lastly.....
the web site has been updated (parade around!!).
all lyrics for my first album "Let Out a Little
Peace" are now visible on the web site... give
props to steph! Just so you know,
for better or worse, this e-mail recipient list
has grown to 1,000 people. ho! bling blingin!!!
spread the word, hyim is what ya heard,
one love, march two grand tre, (2003)
***all rights will be given up to our interesting
constitution**
take care, take it in stride, take it sitting,
